Worst straight line storm I have ever seen!

I live outside Memphis Tn and we had a horrible storm a few hours ago. There are several cities that have absolutely no electricity at all and I have never seen so many trees struck by lightning. I have no electricity and no one in my neighborhood or city does either. Of course I will lose all the food in my refrigerator and I have no idea when electricity will be restored since it looks like the whole state is out. Wonder where I will get some food if all the stores are shut down?

We are supposed to getting it tomorrow. Lots of wind

@Ravens80 it tore my gate off its hinges. Buy a lot of food you don’t have to cook in case you lose electricity

@Mardrae how strong were the winds?
Mardrae · F
@Ravens80 75 mph. I drove around 3 cities and lost count of all the trees that were struck by lightning, fallen across the roads, and on top of houses! There were entire power lines down in the roads in Bartlett and I had to drive off the road to get around them to avoid touching them and being electrocuted

@Mardrae that’s hurricane force!!!

@Ravens80 yep. I’ve never seen so much damage from a straight line storm in my life

@Mardrae In areas that aren’t used to that kind of wind it does huge damage.

@Mardrae here on the coast we are used to hurricanes and strong winds so things seem to fare better. I’d not even consider staying home from work when the winds blowing 60 mph.

@Ravens80 I wouldn’t think of it either. What I am stressing about is losing all the food in my refrigerator from no electricity and getting no sleep because of being in 90• weather in my house. I’m used to sleeping with my air on 75• and a box fan right next to my bed. Won’t have that till they get my electricity back on.

@Mardrae can you get a generator?

@Ravens80 🤣 With what? My looks? They cost a LOT of money and $150-$200 or more a month to run! I am not rich like that.
