I just don't get it

I been seeing videos of people selling grocery stores out before the snow storm hit. I don't get why people do this at all. Do u really need to do that to survive 3 or 4 day's. The roads here are pretty much cleared now.

@smileylovesgaming I got a few more things early Saturday morning.. the store was completely quiet and restocked except for bread.
