What a peaceful night!

I have all the windows open and can hear the sounds of the night. No distractions just the insects and the occasional sound of a train whistle echoing down the valley. All I need is to hear an owl to make the night complete.

At the farm when it gets dark I can use an owl call and the trees around the house start filling up! Mostly Great Horned Owls, but there are a few curious barn owls that like to see what's up. They are amazing creatures

@TexChik For some reason the traffic is light and it is remarkably quiet. Maybe I need an owl call for our camping trips. Right now I can see the bats flying under the street lamp eating bugs.

@SageWanderer Yep if you start calling they will eventually start hanging out around your place. We have a few nesting boxes up in the barn rafters for them
