Hurricane Sandy hit not too far from where I live and I鈥檝e been through two tornadoes, one a handful of miles away and one that traveled through the neighborhood I lived in.
And I had to shelter in place last year at an outdoor concert when hurricane Henri came through (may have been a tropical storm at that point)
We鈥檙e not in the path of any storms this year though. They鈥檙e still relatively rare here.

@summersong @summersong You are at an outdoor concert when a hurricane came through? Had you not been watching the news in the days leading up to the concert?

@ProfessorPlum77 it wasn鈥檛 like a direct hit hurricane. If I had known the weather would get so severe I would鈥檝e stayed home

@summersong I had a neighbor who rode out Camille on a boat somewhere along the coast. The story goes he was sent to South America to pick up the boat for the company he worked for and didn't quiet make it back in time. When he died just a few years ago he still had what was left of the flag from the boat. He loved to tell that story, I hope his sons have that flag put up somewhere safe.
