Its tornado time in North Texas once again. We saw the system coming as we were flying in against its out draft. We have been under a tornado warning for an hour. The sky is spinning, and the sirens are going off. Ugh
We lived through the Joplin tornade. The stories told by the children about butterflies saving them seem valid. Joplin still has butterfly murals and butterflies on posts in front of business places and at least one "butterfuly tree." So -- joyful protection amid the chaos and death.
I am glad you are OK. Our season will start next month but it is not as intense as yours. I have seen a lot of tornados but have only been effected by one. A century old three story barn reduced to a pile of rubble in a minute.
@4meAndyou Sorry, I meant the access to our tornado shelter is under the stairs. My hubby had it built in when he built this house. its floor is 10' below the floor under the stairs. F5 rated
@TexChik Super wonderful!!! I don't have to worry about you as much now. I wish Cherokeepatti would buy a storm pod. (Sort of like a phone booth, and if the tornado hits, you just fly in the pod until it stops).
@4meAndyou The house was engineered to be Tornado resistant. It was framed using the metal stud brackets that make the house stronger against tornados. Hubby is an engineer
@saragoodtimes Nah, that's a Texas thing. We get the warm moist coastal air mixing with the cooler air from the north and it mixes right over Texas and Oklahoma to make a mess.
