A visit to th NY Botanical Gardens' Van Gogh Exhibit

It was a gorgeous day to make the trip to the gardens, one forgets that one is in NY City. The calm was palpable.

Beautiful exhibit. Was there earlier in the summer. 😌😌

@TrunkZ A few years ago there was another over the summer exhibit that we went to, we nearly collapsed from the heat. This time we waited until it was a little cooler. Even so it was still over 80, i was very happy i took a big bottle of water with me. We went to eat on Arthus Avenue afterwards, and bought bread at Maddonia's.

@samueltyler2 Hah... Did something similar. Lunch at Trattoria Zero Otto Nove. Picked up some bread but I don't recall which bakery.

@TrunkZ we went on a Sunday, so many stores were closed.

@samueltyler2 I hadn't been to the area in many years. It was nice to get back there.

@TrunkZ we were shocked though, no gelato places, and no one seemed to even sell granita. I love espresso granita, i think you can still get it at Ferrar's in little Italy during the summer.
TrunkZ · 56-60, M
@samueltyler2 That is surprising. Ferraros probably does. There's not much of Little Italy left in Manhattan.

@TrunkZ i know we were there this summer and were surprised how that entire section has changed. It was hysterical though to see the unafraid sales of know koffs by Asians there. They carried menus of designer bags they sold at tired prices depending on how close to the originals the knockoffs were. Canal Street is also so different. We loved the Banksy museum.

@samueltyler2 Canal Street is always fun. You never know when you could score a Rolexx 😏😏

Haven't been to that museum yet. I bet it's pretty cool

@TrunkZ we took our granddaughters shopping.

@samueltyler2 Nice. There's a lot to explore downtown
