I work in a mental health service for children. It can be emotionally and mentally draining. As workers we try to self care, and build our supportive team regularly. Today we sat outside under a big tree, gentle breeze blowing, dappled sunlight through the leaves and lots of laughter as we made a garden in a tea cup. I definitely did not want to go back to work.
I did a few bails for prisoners, read a verdict at a criminal trial, swore in the jury and witnesses. Filed a few appeals from the magistrate, and dealt with disgruntled people.
I’m glad you take some time for self care, that’s a very tough job you have.
Good shift today, started with a 4 hour respite and got to hear someone’s love story, talk about fate! I’ve also been saying bye to clients I know I won’t see again.
@Morrigan I slept till I woke up. Then I went out for breakfast. I took my time and relaxed while chatting with the waitresses. I came home and met with a guy doing a little pool repair for us. Then played on SW for a while. Picked up dinner to go. Watched a WWII movie since yesterday was June 6th, D-Day and did a load of laundry. That was my day.
