Being the second month of Winter, growth has slowed. Though the Geraldton Wax plants are starting to blossom, one plant has at least1000? buds about to bloom. These pictures are not mine. I am not home at the moment.
The Alyssums flower continually.
The Grey Cottonheads are in full bloom.
The other plants are dormant for now. Mid August I will scatter Swan River Daisy seeds, bringing blue into the predominantly yellow garden. I will also scatter some pastel Alyssum throughout the bed. Not having a lot of success with other colours. There is one Lechenaultia Biloba that has survived. It almost died off completely, I left it in and it seems to have recovered. Hopefully it will produce an abundance of blue flowers in the spring.
I planted 4 Leucophyta Brownii plants - Cushion Bush - 2 are growing really well while 2 seem to have stagnated.
There is one Silver Ragwort - Dusty Miller - coming into flower again. This plant is very hardy and seems impossible of showing any signs of neglect.
I am trying to think what else is in the garden. I remember. I have 4 Dianella Silver Streaks (Native Flax) growing rather well. Even producing dainty flowers on long stalks.
The whole garden is a work in progress. Seeing what native plants will grow in a garden sitting on top of the sand and sediment base of the Perth Coastal Plain. The bed is no more than six inches deep so drought tolerate plants are my main aim.
