back in the day they would just sow their crops around the stumps, y'know

I was having fun pulling bamboo roots out a few years ago, those things are insane. I had to use an extra long crowbar that I would hammer into the root with a sledge hammer, then do my best to bend it over and jump on it. That would loosen it..

Slow and steady wins the race.

And there are more in line to be rooted out

soak the ground with water and use a digging iron bar, also a hand winch with rope or chain is very helpful
