to keep garden looking alive during the winter months, add conifers!!

ive found a few types that are maintenance free, grow low to the ground, and require virtually no pruning.
they include... prostrate yew for shady areas, blue pacific juniper, and mugo pines for more sunny areas. the blue spruce shrubs are just too common and grow too large for me. the alberta spruce usually do not keep their good looks for long, when planted outside their native zone. i hope to add native silver birch tree, fringe trees, and serviceberry trees for the wildlife.
