I do landcare and one of things we do is make 'wraps' with weeds removed by the team of volunteers in black plastic. The 'solarising' effect kills the weeds and after several months the wraps can be unwrapped and you have big 'sausages' of inert bio-mass that can be spread out.
The plastic we use is big rolls of black builders plastic to make large sections of about 5 to 8 sq m that allows lots of weed materials to be rolled up and ends folded in. The sections can be re-used many times over to create new wraps until pieces get too many holes or just break down after months of sun exposure.
