The garden

Think he overdid it a bit? I was standing on top of my truck trying to get as much of it in as I could. There's okra here in front of me, two long strips with a clear strip between where he's already bush hogged something. There's peas to the left of the okra. Down the hill there was water melons and more corn. There was something planted in front of the tower, maybe sweet corn but I can't remember. If you can see the chain link fence around the tower there at the left hand corner in front of that clump of trees an antique Farmall tractor is parked. Looks like just a dark spot in the pic.

@Gusman we have fried okra sometimes - it’s really good. Gumbo is too.

@Gusman I love it fried. We put up some to fry and canned a few quarts of vegetable soup. He was intending to sell a good bit of it but hasn't sold as much as he had hoped. Said he would have been better off to plant more peas and less okra. We cut over a five gallon bucket Monday and I cut another half a bucket yesterday.

@robb65 wow - that’s quite a garden. My grandparents used to give so much away. I guess they could have sold it too, but they just loved to grow things.

@Nelisme I'm like that too. I have a little garden spot in the alley and I don't mind if the homeless dudes take stuff, I just like growing things.
