Copper does NOT keep slugs out of your garden

I read on a website discussing natural ways to get rid of slugs that they will not cross over copper. I have a bunch of beading wire that is 100% copper so I started making rings around my plants with it. Then I saw a slug. I surrounded it with the copper wire. The slug slimed its way right over the copper wire like idgaf. I stopped putting copper wire around my plants and gathered the rest back. Dont believe everything you read on the internet and copper is not the solution for everything.

It does work but two things. You need uncoated copper and it needs to have some surfa e area.

Copper wire for jewelry and embroidery usually is lacquered or coated in a clear resin so it doesn't corrode as easily.
