Visit to the local farmers market

@Magenta i heard that from many people. The first 2 stalls were sold out of head lettuce by 9 AM

@saragoodtimes Lots of eating too - that is my problem with growing edible plants. I've sometimes had some success with a few tomato plants in compost-bags with irrigation controlled by a timer.

@ArishMell [have mine in my garden well spaced, supported, cut off shooters to prommote fruit growth, mulch and cow manure to provide nutrients they need 6-8 hrs of sunshine and water as needed

@saragoodtimes Thankyou. I'll try it- though not now in the middle of a drought.

@samueltyler2 They grow really fast. We have a problem with critters. I gave up on tomatoes, and they are Lynn's favorites. I might try something else next year.

@samueltyler2 Our house backs up to a little creek and there are thick woods on the other side. We get all kinds of critters in our yard. Our beagle gets to enjoy lots of nice aromas in the mornings.

Is it like a marrow / courgette ?

They do look something like our zuccini, aka courgette

@MarineBob I buy only from those who say they actually grow locally.

@DancingStarGoddess be careful with all the contamination we are eating frozen when we cant buy from a local farmer we trust.

@DancingStarGoddess among other things, yes, cilantro was on the list. I am afraid of anything that grows on the ground.
