Do you also have a bunch of ladybugs hiding from the winter in ur room?🥹

I can’t wait until it’s warm enough that they can go outside and do their ladybug stuff. Not because I don’t like them, but because they deserve to be happy in the sun, on plants, eating aphids. 🐞

Actually I've found 4 cabbage butterflies within the last 2 weeks in my kitchen around my window and toaster!!!??? Which is crazy because there is still 3 feet of snow outside!!! They wouldn't survive out there!!!
They are hiding out in your house. @saintsong
LavidaRaq · F
I wish I did. They would be great for my garden.
Ambroseguy80 · 56-60, M
@LavidaRaq you have a garden in your bedroom? Kinky! 😏
Gibbon · 70-79, M
Yup every winter they welcome themselves in. They don't bother me though. It's the stinkbugs that get their a$$ flushed or tossed out.
Oh noooo.. not the stink bugs 😅 The poor guys. They freak me out so bad.

The lady bugs are so clumsy, I am always trying to flip the back over because they always somehow end up on their backs. @Gibbon
Gibbon · 70-79, M
@soulrespite Yeah they do that falling off the lamp beside me.
When the stinkbugs first showed up in this area I had no clue about them. The first one I saw landed on my arm and I thought well aren't you a docile critter.
I hadn't been stunk yet LOL
Gibbon · 70-79, M
@soulrespite I don't like the brown lady bugs though. Those little effers bite.

I have some living in my grow room! Along with boxelders, various spiders and the occasional house centipede ☺☺💙
You aren’t missing out on anything.. they are terrifying. One time one came inside and hid from me in a pack of water. He was so huge he was moving the bottles around and was stuck and making so much noise I was cryinggggg.

I don’t live in Florida anymore so that’s one thing I will never miss from there. @caccoon
caccoon · 36-40
@soulrespite I understand they can get quite big!

I generally feel beetles are the type I am most afraid of in the bug world. I find them cool as well, but I don't like to touch them especially!
I rather let any beetle on me than deal with roaches ever again.

Idk how we got to this topic, but I want to get away from it. 😅 I am happy to host the 🐞’s this year. @caccoon
No, but I saw a ton while doing yardwork this weekend.
No. I don’t see them very often. I’m a "city mouse", in a mostly concrete jungle.
MellyMel22 · F
No, I don’t really ever see them. It’s pretty rare.
MellyMel22 · F
@Levenrack We just don’t see them like we used to. I was gonna order some for my plants one year, but changed my mind.
Levenrack · 46-50, M
@MellyMel22 I miss glow bugs. I haven't seen them probably over 2 decades. They were all over the place, while growing up in Milwaukee. I have to ask myself "Did we catch them all?" LOL
MellyMel22 · F
@Levenrack We still get them, but it does seem like a lot less or around every year.
Prettybratbi1tch · 26-30, F
You have ladybugs in your room?? I'm jealous
Don’t be, it’s like a full time job. They are so clumsyyy. Always falling and flipping over. 🥹 @Prettybratbi1tch

I saw one lady bug 🐞 last week in my bathroom.
If there is one, there are more. 🙂‍↕ @Ambroseguy80
Ambroseguy80 · 56-60, M
@soulrespite I have women in my bathroom. 😜
Straylight · F
It’s already warm here.
I looked it up and saw I was way off 😅 my geography is an elite fail. @Straylight
Straylight · F
@soulrespite Look how far I’ve gone.
Must have taken you a whole month to reach this land. @Straylight
samueltyler2 · 80-89, M
They might not be lady bugs. They may be an invasive species that look like lady bugs but are asian beetles, call an exterminator.
They won’t kill me even if they are, they still need shelter regardless what they are..? @samueltyler2
samueltyler2 · 80-89, M
@soulrespite look up asian beetles. I will see if i can find it for you.

AI Overview

Asian Lady Beetles vs Ladybugs - Summit Wildlife Removal
Asian lady beetles (*Harmonia axyridis) are generally not harmful to humans but are a nuisance due to their tendency to invade homes in large numbers, bite when threatened (though not seriously), and emit a foul-smelling, staining yellow liquid. While they don't spread diseases, they can cause allergic reactions like rhinitis or asthma in sensitive people and, if a pet eats many of them, they can cause oral irritation or stomach upset.

For Pets (Dogs & Cats)
Environmental Impact
Beneficial: In gardens, they are excellent aphid predators.
Invasive: They compete with native ladybug species, contributing to their decline.
What to Do
I already know all of this. (: so far all I see is just positive info. Other than the fact they compete with native species. But my (possible) 5 critters sleeping in my room won’t make a huge impact while this has been happening for years already, all over the country. @samueltyler2
Levenrack · 46-50, M
No. But I don't doubt that the walls are full of 'em.
No, but I do got the asian lady beetle. They bite
CrazyMusicLover · 31-35
@Bexsy They are nasty creatures that kill native ladybugs and mass-devour fruits like figs.
Sounds like any other species to me.. humans kill everything in their path. I think I will leave a tiny beetle alone so it can test its own luck outside after trying to stay alive all winter already. @CrazyMusicLover
CrazyMusicLover · 31-35
@soulrespite Yeah, humans are the worst, tbh.
I bet he could find her clit. @MsSwan
Last year there was

This winter, though, I've not seen them return.
