Some of the Carnage from the December Windstorm

The one closest is/ was a healthy 3ft + diameter at the base tree that snapped in the 80+ mph winds. The 2 by the old red school house are over 2 ft in diameter and were also healthy. And the smaller trees across the road were uprooted.

Trees can be killers in high winds!!! NEVER plant them near your house, or build in the woods. A friend of mine lives in a 50+ community, and the area WAS heavily wooded. Tree after tree after tree fell on various homes...and if the tree itself didn't fall on the roof, it was huge branches spearing down and piercing through people's ceilings!

The homeowner's association FINALLY started cutting down some of the worst of the trees two years ago.

@4meAndyou Sound advice and also there is a fire hazard in some places with dense tree cover.
