Went to Goblin Swamp and came across these Gnarly Trees

The trees in this video are Melaleuca Paperbarks.
Normally Paperbarks are easily recognised by the thin, papery bark on their, trunks and taller than these ones.
These low trees with bulbous, knotty trunks are rather spooky.
I am trying to imagine what the visual effects would be if there was water on the ground.
Marked in my diary. Come here in the winter, bring a torch for really spooky visual effect.

The foliage on those trees looks very similar what we call ribbonwood or red shank trees. Not the same as New Zealand ribbonwood either.

While the red shank can be quite gnarly it's definitely not as gnarly as those trees nor are the branches blackish in color...

Ok, what a wonderful place!
