My newest pond improvement a homemade aerator.

Pond aerators can cost you from $100o to several thousands of dollars. They are used to keep oxygen flowing in your pond and makes the water clearer and a nature color to it instead of being green algae covered or a dirty brown color.

The attached pics are before and after the aerator I made for under $100 dollars and installed.

Before installation.

Post installation.

I stop using them when the kids stop using the ponds. (we have 4 on the property)

The animals don't care. They jump right in. I figured why bother doing the extra maintenance, if no one is going to use the ponds.

@HumanEarth I like my little fishing pond and it is beside the new home I have been building and I did not want to stare at the whole surface being covered in green algae like it was before I made, the aerator. It took one and half days to clear the algae, and I am dead set against using chemicals.

Oh, your pond is near your home. Ours are not, Two of them are in the middle of the woods. They used to be old cow ponds
