So this right here is a playground slide, back in the 1970s.

Maybe this might bring back memories for some of you haha.

Wow, that’s a bit more formidable-looking than the ones I remember. 😳

@LunadelobosIAMTHEDRAGON @bijouxbroussard It looks like it would fall over on its side on a windy day. I don't see how it would even be approved for safe use lol.
@LunadelobosIAMTHEDRAGON I don’t think it’s intended as a lie. More like exaggerated humor ?
@bijouxbroussard I can't see the humour in this at all.

Not old enough to remember the 70s, but I do remember plenty of metal slides in / from the 80s. The only ones which were even remotely that tall were at amusement parks and had much higher sides.
@thisguy20 ditto!

A nice cushy pavement for landing..😂😂😂
Reminds me of one in Abergavenny.
Much taller than the ones in my local park
Health and safety would have a fit!
@TheSirfurryanimalWales really?

People are mad!
@LunadelobosIAMTHEDRAGON back in the sixties we kids were fearless.
@TheSirfurryanimalWales I was fearless!..I probably told you about the flying off the stairs incident?

I taught myself how to swim, love the water over my head..

ALL normal kids ARE fearless lol

This isn't safe because it's simply too high and the ground is a pavement.

Very much so
ArishMell · 70-79, M
A lot higher than the ones I knew - and they, and open stairs like that, were too high for my lack of head for heights!
doodatt · 61-69, M
It was certainly alot of fun growing up then.
I never saw one that high.
But I have lifelong memories of jumping on those metal slides that were out in the hot summer sun all day and practically burning the skin right off my legs.
And I'll bet no one ever got hurt on it.

My kids fell off one like that
@AbbeyP Was waiting for this comment.

As others have said, much taller than I remember. Cool though.

looks like the kind of slide that would turn my ass into fried bacon midafternoon. We had a few metal slides(much shorter of course) in the mid 90's
