You mean like white people over the Australian aboriginals?
Of course not.

@SW-User Wow, no idea why you are attacking me. My concern is about native animals being culled.
We all know that every country is guilty of subjugating the native inhabitants. Every country.
Personally I give more credence to animals than I do humans, always and ever.

@Gusman lol like you really give a fuck about some black swans because they're native

@SW-User Absolutely and always, native animals over humans.

People will never learn. They trash the environment and harm species that were already present.
Gusman · 61-69, M
@deadgerbil In my opinion these decisions are criminal.
The power lies in the bodies that want financial concerns taking precedence over the natural world.

@Gusman it's always about money. An example of this would be with hunting.
The African wilderness is really only preserved because big game hunters will pay big bucks to hunt the animals, and tourists want to see the animals etc, which creates incentive to protect the land, due to that money.
If there wasn't that demand, the land would be overrun by poachers looking to make their quick buck.

We have a few of those here too, of course imported/released; they seem to get along well with mute swans

Poor creatures. Couldn't they just relocate them somewhere?
Gusman · 61-69, M
@PiecingBabyFaceTogether In fact, their are thousands of Black Swans in Tasmania.
Back in 2015 - 2018, 8000 Black Swans were culled for the same reason.
This latest culling will not stop at 200.

What was the reasoning that preferred trout?
Gusman · 61-69, M
@ninalanyon Trout fishing in Tasmania is known as "World Class"
It is a huge money earner which is why is takes precedence over native wildlife.
