This whole story about cats bringing dead animals back as a gift is bulldust…

Cats are opertunity killers.
They don’t need to be hungry to be planning a snack for laters..
bring it home is just bringing it where it’ll be safe..

My daughters cat used to bring back dead lizards and mice all the time, never ate any of them

We had a cat who left a half eaten small rabbit in the driveway.
We found a dead mouse on our bed once 😬

Had a Siamese cat growing up and she would cat a mouse at night and kill it and lay it on the rug next to my bed. Sometimes she would eat it and throw it up on the same spot. Pretty sure it wasn’t a gift, she just wanted me to dispose of it for her.
Pfft. You think they kill to play but care enough to look after it once its dead?😂

Cats love the thrill of the hunt . And bringing it back to you is their way of saying , "ive got you something, now give me something ".

NB: dont mistake this as an equal trade.....its not.
You MUST give them something of higher value or they will also gift you with a stinky carpet muffin .
