Check it out!

I've been busy getting the house ready for a bunch of houseplants to come inside from sitting on the porch all summer. The temperatures at night are dipping into the low 50s.
The others are being moved onto the porch, like this Hen and Chicks.
Isn't she beautiful and her babies

I like those plants because they are good multipliers. I started with one and now I have lots of them. Cheers!

@Nanoose cheers! Hopefully I can sell them..the youngsters..at a farmers market this coming Spring.

Hens and chickens were one of my favorite garden plants when I was a child. My grandmother grew them in her flower garden, and gave some babies to my mother, and then she grew them in the back flower garden, for a time. I still remember being so disappointed when my mother decided not to grow them anymore.

@4meAndyou my grandmother too, she'd grew them in old pans, a cup, anything that would hold dirt. I have another variety out in the garden.
I will transplant the ...puppies 😉.....ChipmunkErnie words.....into their own pots.

I never take the porch plant in when winter arrives.

I did it once and my house soon had ants and other bugs crawling around.

I don't like killing any bugs other than flies and that was a tough start to the winter for me because of it.

I went to war with those bugs and it took me over a month to win that war.

Never again....

Also - Hens and Chicks are perennial in most zones south of Canada....

@HikingMan most of the 20 someodd plants I brought indoors were recently transplanted. So no bugs in the soil. I've had that problem before too, it terrible!
Yup, Hen and Chicks are a perennial, they stay on porch.
These big plants are the last to be brought in.
I've had these for 11..12yrs.

@ShadowWorker I've never had a greenhouse that is a bit bigger and more permanent, until this year. I can't wait to start veggies and whatnot in it this coming year. :)
ShadowWorker · 61-69, F
@SW-User i understand. I look forward to my seed catalogs that come in...in the dead of winter.

@ShadowWorker I'm glad I'm not the only one. :)
