@PatKirby I do not recognize that ship. Which season is that one from?
PatKirby · M
@Thevy29
"The Doomsday Machine" 2nd season, 6th episode. I read back then they didn't have any other models except the Enterprise so they just reversed the designation from NCC-1701 to NCC-1017, and stenciled in the name.

@PatKirby Back in the good old days, when they used potatoes as asteroids... Mind you Gene Roddenberry didn't give them much to work with at the beginning. So it couldn't be helped.

I heard about that, that's cool. Asteroids look like potatoes anyway. Must've been on a potato budget back then.

Did you know that the actor for Scotty (James Doohan) was missing a finger in his right hand from seeing some action in WW2?
Thevy29 · 41-45, M
@PatKirby I remember something about that, Shot 5 times as I recall. One of the bullets taking his finger. He was a daredevil of fighter pilot too. Kind of a shame he wasn't the helmsman of the Enterprise. And wasn't he the one who came up with Scotty being Scottish?

@Thevy29
Heheh, wouldn't be surprised if he did come up with being Scottish. It gives the character an interesting boost! Speaking of sharing a different role, I do recall he played captain in one episode of the Next Generation when Geordie LaForge managed to de-materialize him from being in the Genolan transporter for 75 years in "Relics" (~at about 4:00min)...

@PatKirby I always loved it when the brought the original cast back as their older characters.
