what the heck does Beatles mean?

It was a variant spelling of Beetles (insects) as a play on the word "Beat". The Beatles were from Liverpool, a city where the people are known for their love of wordplay humour. It's only about 40 miles from Manchester (my home city) and we enjoy similar humour here too.
