I was cutting hot peppers and now my hand is burning. Any tips to make it stop?

I didn't think they were that hot until an hour after handling them.

Milk may help as it helps the mouth after eating hot peppers.

@Bowenw milk helped a little. I scrubbed my hand with Dawn and a fingernail brush. That pretty much took it away.

@NeuroticByNature Thank you for the update. I'm happy to hear you're feeling better now.

@dirge Ill try this next. I didn't think these peppers were hot enough to bother but apparently I was wrong.
@NeuroticByNature yeah, it can sneak up. after light acid {lemon juice might work too} something as close to dawn

@NeuroticByNature that would be absolutely no fun - later
something acidic like lemon or vinegar.

@jackrabbit10 pretty sure the universally acknowledged initial first aid preps in cases similar to these is to...pee on it
@sp1dwoOfe221 ok that could work, works on bee stings,

pH range below 7 (4.65 to 6.17 pH)

Tap water has a Ph of 6.8 - 7.6

Just run tap water over your hands for 10 minutes
Dunk the offending appendage in a bucket of cold water.
