It scares me. More guns can only mean more deaths. The myth of "good guys with guns" has been disproven more often than borne out. The Uvalde shooting is the saddest example. 😞

@bijouxbroussard Certainly countless pros and cons.
Grew up with a career military parent.

Most of his experience....he can't tell ya about.

But I do know that the violence he is capable of.... I'd never "know"....due to is tender devoted love.

I was proficient with a handgun when I was 13.

On a range.

Was my sister.the girly one......I was his son's substitute..lol.

Really...I do see where you're coming from. Blatantly.

I carry for self protection alone.

🤷
@Punxi Pop’s a veteran, knows how to use a gun. My brother’s a retired policeman.
And my grandfather taught me how to use a gun (to my mother’s dismay). I remember my grandmother, who grew up in the bayou, had a rifle and knew how to use it (she was badass on so many levels).

I’m not anti-gun; it’s a tool that has very specific, often necessary uses. But not everyone should be able to acquire one, and the easy access has been disastrous.

I don’t know what’s happened. The very first school shooting I remember watching on the news was when Charles Whitman, killed 17, wounded 31 from the Texas University clock tower, before the police took him out. It was shocking and horrifying because it was unimaginable.

I’m not sure how we got to where we are now; when we hear about yet another mass shooting, sigh, shake our heads and keep going. It’s the norm now. People in other countries (like Canada) have guns, too, but somehow they’re not doing this.
