Is “Take it to the Limit” by the Eagles a love song?

The song seems to be about the pursuit of something Grand.But along with whatever is gained ,well some things are lost along the way. Like relationships. He says, " I was thinking about a women who might've loved me.. I never knew". In his pursuit of one dream he missed out on another. He's realizing you "can't have everything". So it's just a quiet pondering in matters of the heart. Like we all do from time to time. But it doesn't change anything. He will still remain focused on his primary goal and live with the consequences.
