@rinkydinkydoink Always love Lennon's story about making up nonsense lyrics for a song just to see how the English Professors would find meaning it the gibberish for their courses on Beatles' lyrics. Or how the band would tack together bits and pieces of multiple songs they had no idea of how to finish, call it one song, and be called geniuses for it.

Neither. But of the two, I like the sound of the Kinks . However, if I was going on a road trip someplace far away, i would pick the Beatles just because of the volume and the variety.
Hahaha that reminds me of the drive from California to Colorado between duty stations, with all my music in a slow boat from Germany.
I bought 2 cassette tapes at a truck stop, and listened to them over and over and over through all that radio silent land of Nevada, Utah and Wyoming. I can't remenber what was on those 2 tapes (Steven Wright joke). I'd scan for any sign of any kind of music every now and then.. lol at one point, somewhere in Wyoming, i stumbled onto a Native American chanting station. I tried to listen to it to see what the next song might sound like. I had to pop one of the 2 tapes back in a few min later though because the chanting was making it rain buckets and i could barley see the road. ..joke joke. The chanting was putting me to sleep.
The 2 cassette tapes were Bad Company, 10 from 6 (10 songs from 6 of their albums) and Deep Purple's greatest hits.
...anyhoo, yea, the Kinks.
