In phi Delta sigma at Amherst I remember retrieving them from thieves, and I counted ninety some. The men there had such a unique sense of humour with regard to my possessions

I had 4 or 5 banana box’s full so my guess is 500 or so. The box’s got damp/wet and it ruined the record jackets – which was kind of my favorite part cause of the art and photos. Cheers!

My aunt threw out my cousins collection as well.. Fortunately for him, they wound up in a box of mine, some did when I moved out.. I was able to return some expensive ones to him
4thdimensiondream · 70-79, M
@valentinesdaywife even if just for nostalgia reasons I wish I still had my collection. I had so many classics and some were rare with album covers that were changed depending on where they were distributed! Hey how are you? We chatted awhile back about your famous incident!

I'm 73. Started with 45s at age 5.... graduated to LPs and today, still have 99% of them.
Total, close to 800.
JSul3 · 70-79
@4thdimensiondream Stil have a turntable and still enjoy playing them.

For some reason I took very good care of my records and baseball cards.....my toys? Not so much.
4thdimensiondream · 70-79, M
@JSul3 let’s not even bring up baseball cards. I was obsessed with them in the mid 60s. Mom tossed them all. Goodbye Ernie Banks and Clemente! I did get back into them in the 80s again and I still have some but most ended up just like my treasured albums.

@4thdimensiondream I kept a select few, but sold the vast majority and used the cash to buy furniture for the new house after getting married in '76.

The market was hot and I cashed in.
hippyjoe1955 · 70-79, M
My mother had a much larger collection of 78s than I did of either 45s or 33 1/3s I had maybe 10 combined.
4thdimensiondream · 70-79, M
@hippyjoe1955 I remember 78’s as well. They were one sided if I recall.
hippyjoe1955 · 70-79, M
@4thdimensiondream Some of the older ones were one sided. Most of Mom's had recording on both sides.
ChipmunkErnie · 70-79, M
Probably well over 1,000 -- sadly lost in a basement flood that ended up with most of them growing mold from being soaked. :(
exexec · 70-79, C
I spent my hard-earned money on my girlfriend, not albums. I still have all of mine and they fit in one box.
ChipmunkErnie · 70-79, M
@exexec Is the girlfriend in the box, too?
exexec · 70-79, C
@ChipmunkErnie No, she's in the den watching TV.
I have about 300 now. Many of them are old jazz that I inherited from my grandfather.
4thdimensiondream · 70-79, M
@bijouxbroussard I miss my turntable days! Heck I even miss CD’s although I still have all of them.
@4thdimensiondream I know what you mean. I also still have a lot of the 45s that were popular when I was in high school.
4thdimensiondream · 70-79, M
@bijouxbroussard wow I haven’t seen a 45 in a very long time. The very first 45 I ever bought was 5th Dimension “ The Wedding Bell Blues”. I even remember the flip side song “Lovin Stew”.
uncalled4 · 56-60, M
I have a few hundred. I never actually counted.
