🎧🎵🎵🎵🎵 Wish i was there....

I was born a little too late. I would give anything to have been at Woodstock in 69' seeing Janis Joplin, Joe Cocker, Sly and The Family Stone and so many other greats. They don't make music like that anymore. How could you not love this?

My mom attended and for years I had a grudge that she didn't bring me,her one-year-old child.
Now,after reading a large number of books, listening to many eyewitness accounts and viewing documentaries on the actualities of that festival...I can see that it was not a place to push a baby stroller around.Surely I had a great weekend with Grandma. She had a blueberry bush on the side of the house,so chances are that I was more interested in that than grooving to a bunch of noise.
I would get my chance to see quite a few 60's legends in the 80's,as it turned out.
My high school friend's Dad Timmy was supposed to open the show, but apparently got a lil freaked out at the sheer size of the gig and Richie Havens was cajoled into the now historic slot.

I was 15. Wasn't at Woodstock but a dozen of the bands that played there played at Laurel Race Track a mile from my house the following summer. You are so correct about the music and I was at right age to witness and feel a part of all of it.
It really was musically the greatest and most unique era.

@AngelUnforgiven Some of us referred to him as the spazz because of his awkward motions. But I learned to respect him because the album Mad Dogs and Englishmen. If you're curious and don't know read about how fast that was put together and his involvement making it happen. I don't think any project compares time wise.

@Gibbon wow thanks I'm going to do that. I always thought he was just high on something most singers were back then ive seen videos of him and you could tell he was floating on cloud 9 lol

@AngelUnforgiven Lol yes he had that appearance. He did quite a bit producing behind the scenes.
I was alive, but I was a child during much of that time. One of Joe Cocker’s later hits came out when I was about 22, a duet with Jennifer Warnes, "Up Where We Belong".

A friend of mine wanted us to hitchhike there. We were 19. It was billed as a crafts fair with music. I couldn't imagine hitchhiking 600 miles just to see some tie-dyed t-shirts and pottery. So we didn't go.

@hunkalove wow that is a long way but i would have tried my damnest to make it there.
