I was lucky enough to see him perform several times. A generational talent! His music becomes more accessible as your taste matures, I think. I wasn't as impressed in younger years either. Give it some time and try again in a few years, see if your opinion changes.

Personally, I’m mental over instrumentals. Beck had a career that covered many genres. The music mattered to him more than fame. The shear number of other artists he played with is remarkable.

He's one of the most innovative guitarists ever. Saw him live not too many years ago. Glad I did. Listen to some of his early solo work from the 70s sometime.
