I have no musical ability at all so cannot say if I agree or disagree. All I know is that so many songs these days sound similar and it's all a little boring.

@MrAverage1965 BINGO. There's no originality today. Every song is bumper to bumper lyrics. The singers all sound the same and the musicians are an afterthought. It's going to take more than changing from 4/4 to fix that. Besides JAZZ broke that mold ages ago.

Commercial radio wanted songs to not be long, and dances with shorter songs give partners an out.
