I have no musical ability at all so cannot say if I agree or disagree. All I know is that so many songs these days sound similar and it's all a little boring.

Commercial radio wanted songs to not be long, and dances with shorter songs give partners an out.

I can't even listen to the new country music anymore. It's like it's the same damn song...over and over again.

The current popular music is often irritating.
