One of the most famous one hit wonders of all time; been in over 32 movies, over a dozen ads, and more than 50 TV shows. Has probably made Norman more money through royalties alone than many career singers

@wildbill83 And there it is and with the correct justification. Even though it didn't go above #3 in the US it did #1 in 5 countries.

Ontheroad · M
Not at the BC level, but the first one that came to mind...

Regarded by most as the first song from an Australian band to get International recognition

@wildbill83 remember it well

@BlueSkyKing I don't think Status Quo are one-hit wonders. While they are not my cup of tea, I've heard quite a few songs of theirs on the pub jukebox.
wildbill83 · 41-45, M
@MaryDreamilton probably their most popular/most played hit

@MaryDreamilton In the US. I know they were more popular on the other side.

Shannon by Henry Gross

@Tumbleweed That never crossed my path so I read it's sad history. RIP Shannon.

@Tastyfrzz Wow the shotgun effort. Kudos The Ventures pick and Summer Time Blues. Here's a version that gets credited for beginning the Metal Band genre

@Tastyfrzz Is that the same Spinners who sang "Working My Way Back To You"? I thought that was a hit.

My mum loves the song "Harper Valley PTA".
Gibbon · 70-79, M
@MaryDreamilton Yes it is

@wildbill83 And later covered by The Ventures
wildbill83 · 41-45, M
@Gibbon "walk, don't run" is about the only ventures cover I can think of that's better than the original...
Gibbon · 70-79, M
@wildbill83 Oh I don't no. They have so many different versions of Wipeout that are all pretty awesome.

@wildbill83 Wildbill I see you've been busy drilling for BC lol. Still have to check the rest of your entries. But if there is a video I add as a separate reply to this it means I came back here because I didn't see a song this one always reminds me of.
wildbill83 · 41-45, M
@Gibbon I'm a music connoisseur of sorts 😅
Gibbon · 70-79, M

I think this is a one-hit wonder from the late 70s.
[media=https://youtu.be/r1UkZLT20TI]
Gibbon · 70-79, M
@MaryDreamilton Yes it is '79 right at the end. Sadly I cringed all through the Disco years. I give Steely Dan credit for the crossovers that led us out
MaryDreamilton · 46-50, F
@Gibbon What crossovers? I thought Steely Dan were a rock band.
Gibbon · 70-79, M
@MaryDreamilton Their sound had at first had a discoest touch to it and they got played in the Discos. Thank you lord.
Musicman · 61-69, M
Great song 🙂
