Watching a decent tribute band in a pub is a much better experience than watching the real thing in a massive stadium.

Disagree. I live in NYC, it's IMPOSSIBLE for me to be impressed with a tribute band

I'll always appreciate a good rendition of a song but it doesn't compare

@helenS I understand. I have a friend far out on the forks of Long Island who just spent 4 years pretty much cloistered caring for 3 dying people. She's free now and her girlfriends take her out most nights and usually catch a cover band.

I'm delighted she's getting out and having fun. But it takes ALL my acting ability to sound impressed when she goes on about the covers 😛

That being said good music is good music and I appreciate it anywhere (even while intimate and my ears are being...blocked 😉 )
