Do you ever listen to music in a genre you don't normally listen to?

I don't have anything against country music, but I just haven't heard much of it. I only have a few country songs in my music library but, what I have heard I've really liked.

I wish rap had run its course decades ago ... but if I actually listen attentively to a rap song, I often enjoy it :)

@Dino11 I get a lot of music ideas from my friends too. I don't listen to much rap/hip-hop either, but I have one friend who is an expert on it. I've discovered some good stuff from him.

I never typecast myself to a certain genre. Often on posts I’ll say "I’m mental for instrumentals" but that covers a lot and of course don’t like every tune. I just pay attention to the music more than the lyrics.

Sometimes I get on youtube and click and click and click. It isn't unusual to run across someone I've never heard of, or a song I've never heard, or some really unusual version and I'll listen out of curiosity.

I like artists from just about every genre. So I have a few country artists on my playlist, even though country music itself is not my favorite genre.
