When Prince changed his name to "The Artist Formerly Known As Prince", how were we supposed to pronounce that weird symbol he used?

@Crazychick Wow! Thanks for BC! I just got tired of the whole "the Artist formerly known as 'Prince' " thing, so I made up a pronunciation. lol

[For Prince fans, YES, I know he was very smart & doing this as a way to navigate the very narrow intellectual property straits in which he found himself after his fight with a former label/music publisher.]
