Can anyone help me understand these lyrics?

I’m performing a cover song in front of a small crowd but I don’t understand some of the phrases in the song. Some of them because I simply don’t know what they mean, and some of them because I think they’re phrases from before my generation. Was wondering if someone could help me out. Here they are:

“Permanent scar”
Did you fall from a shooting star, one without a permanent scar
“???”
She checks out Mozart while she does tae-bo
idk if he’s saying Tae-Bo or if he’s saying the name of another classical composer like Mozart.

“Jane-told”
I’m afraid that she might think of me as a plain old Jane-told story ‘bout a man who was too afraid to fly so he never did land.
“Freeze-dried romance”
Can you imagine no first dance, freeze-dried romance
I know there are a lot of phrases there but I would really appreciate your help. Thanks.

Well the first one is just 'poetry' with a rhyming pentameter. Doesn't make a lot of sense but the lines rhyme.

The second one i imagine is that she listens to Mozart while 'exercising'. Tae-Bo is a form of exercise involving elements of Aerobics and kick boxing.
'Reminds me that there's room to grow.' Means that he appreciates that she's exercising her body and her mind at the same time.

"I'm afraid she might think of me as plain old Jane. Told story 'bout a man who was too afraid to fly so he never did land" means he doesn't think he'd ever be good enough for her.

"Freeze dried romance" I think probably means he thinks they'd be good together as no effort would be needed.

Of course, i may have it all wrong but that's what it suggests to me.

"Permanent scar" is an oxymoron (contradictory: scars are permanents) - a figure often used to accentuate something.
Tae-bo is a combination of martial arts not a composer.
I don't think "Jane-told" means anything specific (unless it means something to him), it might be like that because of a rhyme but I think it's just an artist's way of expanding the word "story" by describing it a bit ("plain old told story" doesn't sound as good as "plain old Jane told story")
As for the "freeze-dried romance", it could be rhyme (dance - romance) or something that ended too quickly
(look at the whole verse:
Can you imagine no love, pride, deep-fried chicken
Your best friend always sticking up for you
Even when I know you're wrong
Can you imagine no first dance, freeze-dried romance
Five-hour phone conversation
The best soy latte that you ever had, and me)

It's good that you want to understand the song so you could give your best performance of it but don't think too much about it. The song itself sounds nice and I'm sure your audience will enjoy it, whether they've heard it before or not. I'm adding some links that might answer your (possible) questions as I was too lazy to read all of that. The most important part is that you understand what's the song about, find how it resonates with you and give it your interpretation.

"Of course, the great thing about songs is that you can always interpret them in your own way to find something for your own life. So if you hear something else or another thing in the song, that is cool too. But it is also great to know the story behind the song." she checks out mozart while she does tae bo is probably refering to her versatility she is not stuck on one thing taebo could some kinds of dance, the falling star is open to interpretation could be he is asking is she really perfect untouched , like i said its really open, as for plain jane it saounds like he thinks she may think of him as boring or unadventorous possible he had nt seen much done much ,i dont think there is a wrong answer , go with what you feel man, it will your interpretation wont it.
