I don't think there is any greatest band ever. It's all very subjective. There have been many great bands over the years. Pink Floyd is certainly up there though.

Wow dude, had now idea you were a Clash fan. I was a massive fan back in the day and still am. I was lucky enough to see them at the Hollywood Palladium in 1981 when I was 16. Best fucking live show I've ever been to.

Nirvana is my favorite band but I'll go with Green Day. They kept punk music alive til 2016. Many bands lose their authenticity but Green Day held on to punk.

@DuchessOfMapleSyrup: Well I take this as a lesson from a professional. Green Day's music just didn't evolve into the shitty music of today. They're still the Green Day I've known way back in highschool.
