I don't know
@Trevo how do you not know like do you have to many or just don't listen to music
Trevo · 26-30, M
@DanielleLivingston1999 I listen to anything that feels good to the ear, I do not take the genre into account.
@Trevo ok

Classical. Actually a misnomer ; the word should refer to mainly 18th.century music, which I'm not so keen on.
NankerPhelge · 61-69, M
@alan20 I've found it a good thing to have friends whose tastes differ from my own, it opens my mind to music I hadn't previously considered listening to but later discover it's good.

@NankerPhelge I've spent my life as a music teacher and yet still find when I'm listening to something new, I often have to give it a chance by listening to it several times over a period of time. An example would be Stenhammar's 2nd.Symphony which I now find quite haunting. Or the American composer Hanson's 2nd. Symphony which can move one to tears. I'm a big fan of melody!
NankerPhelge · 61-69, M
@alan20 I've never heard of those composers before. When were they around?
Sammyk · F
Like all sorts but have more rock than anything
@Sammyk lol same
NankerPhelge · 61-69, M
Rock, especially classic rock from the 1970s (Led Zeppelin, Deep Purple, AC/DC, Thin Lizzy, Lynyrd Skynyrd, etc).

@DanielleLivingston1999 Both my grandfathers have been dead for a long time now, and most of my uncles are now sadly deceased as well. However, none of them liked the kind of music I like. Of course, your uncle is probably about my age so that makes all the difference. Lol :)
Yea

@DanielleLivingston1999 Good luck with your ambitions. Beethoven was the greatest revolutionary of them all.

I love artists from almost all genres, but my go-tos are classical and jazz.

@bijouxbroussard He can be so evocative from the simplest of means. Something like "La fille aux cheveux de lin" conjures such nostalgia from the simplest of melodies. When my wife and I are holidaying by the sea we often drive as close to the waves as we dare and listen to La Mer. To get back to your painting I think there was an English Impressionist called Whistler that it reminded me of. I'd love to see San Francisco some time.
@alan20 I know the one you speak of, by Evgeny Lushpin ? I fell in love with from the first time I saw it...
alan20 · M
@bijouxbroussard I'm amazed to read he was born as late as 1966. Hope for us yet, perhaps!
