Just starting to learn how to play guitar

Playing a musical instrument is one of the things I wanted to do for a long time.
As a child I used to play flute. But for more than 30 years my ex made hobbies very difficult or impossible. Now I can do things I like again. And even though I am over 50 now, I think it is never to late to start something new.

Do you have a bucket list? A guitar is a great instrument to start with.

@samueltyler2 I don't have an written down bucket list, but I did do several things that I couldn't do before. And now I think that I simply should do what I want and don't limit myself unnecessarily.

@Tamara68 what other things have you now accomplished?
Tamara68 · 56-60, F
@samueltyler2 Got my driver's license is a big one.

@Tamara68 wow, you never drive before? How did you manage that?
Tamara68 · 56-60, F
@samueltyler2 I live in Belgium and before that I lived in the Netherlands. That is not comparable to living in the USA. Public transport in the Netherlands is not bad and the distances are so much smaller than in the USA. Over there it was doable without a car. In Belgium I used public transport too, but that was not great. It is so much better to be able to go (almost) anywhere.

@Tamara68 Europeans have much better public transportation, and fewer parking spaces, and expensive petrol.
Tamara68 · 56-60, F
@samueltyler2 Yes. finding a parking space can be difficult. Petrol is less expensive in Belgium than in the Netherlands. So all Dutch close to the border tank in Belgium.

@Tamara68 do you own a car now?
Tamara68 · 56-60, F
@samueltyler2 yes, very happy with it.

@Tamara68 Is it gas or electric? The last visit to Europe, we noticed a much better availability of charging stations, many free, in the countries we visited than in the US.
Tamara68 · 56-60, F
@samueltyler2 Mine is gas. Electric cars are still more expensive than gas. In the last few years the charging stations have increased a lot. A few years ago there was almost nothing in Belgium.

@Tamara68 I lease my car, but the tax advantages given me brought the price of the plug in electric car i drive, almost $70 USD cheaper then the identical gas version. Now i average over 100 miles per gallon.
