A rant! Ok religious people so you think you're not about money!

This is getting ridiculous. You think people don't know you're about money when you constantly repeat your religious commercial messages all through the day, sometimes as much as every ten minutes on network TV?

A thirty second spot costs from §$30,000 to $200,000 USA just for one showing!

Where are you getting the money from? 🤷🏻‍♂️

And why isn't the money helping others?

Your wasting hundreds of millions of dollars by repeating your silly messages on commercial TV!

Sorry for the rant. End of rant!

This isn't new by any means.

Forty years ago I got a letter from some yahoo in Philadelphia with some self-designated title like The Honorable Grand Poobah of God's Anointed." Something like that.

He sent me a paper prayer rug and the letter included the secret formula: "Pray on this special rug (paper). Then look through your money and choose your largest bill and send it back folded in the blessed prayer rug."

Obediently I sent him my electric bill.

I also included this scripture:

Matthew 21:13
New King James Version
13 And He said to them, “It is written, ‘My house shall be called a house of prayer,’ but you have made it a ‘den of thieves.’ ”

i guess I was scrubbed from their mailing list.

@Mamapolo2016 it's getting worse however. That's my objection. It seems these floods are now happening monthly. Not just once in a while.

And it doesn't matter the religion.
@DeWayfarer It's got nothing to do with religion. It is entirely greed-fueled. Scammers everywhere.
DeWayfarer · 61-69, M
@Mamapolo2016 they are using religion never the less.
@DeWayfarer They are. Other scammers use love or sudden riches or blackmail.

@Mamapolo2016 I can say the same for all the charity commercials. Yet they are not the ones pushing their brand of religion.

I have to be more specific in order to get the point across.
@Mamapolo2016 Beautiful ! 😆👍🏽
@DeWayfarer I think i understand what you mean. I think that crummy people can use anything to steal from the gullible.

I'm not religious, and part of why is because these glitz and glamour 'ministers' feather their own nest with the money of the faithful. It's ugly and it should be criminal.

BUT, if somebody uses "love" to scam, we don't blame Cupid.

@Mamapolo2016 I believe nori got my position clearly below. See my response to her.

@DeWayfarer Basically it’s about getting people where they’re most vulnerable, and for many, it’s faith. It’s a con, of course, designed to part gullible people from their money & possessions. The worst case scenario regarding this vulnerability can be found over in Oakland, CA, where 900+ are entombed after having trusted "Rev" Jim Jones. 😞

@bijouxbroussard Agree! Yet Jonestown Guyana, not Oakland California, though he did have a branch there before the move.
@DeWayfarer This is the mass grave and Jonestown Memorial at Evergreen Cemetery, Oakland, CA. (I’ve been there). You’re correct that not all of the bodies are there, but those that were unclaimed are, actually about 412 of them.

@bijouxbroussard I bring it up because this could have been prevented. If it was handled first, state side. No one wished to touch the move. So the problem occured in Guyana.
@DeWayfarer No question it could’ve been prevented, but Jones convinced his followers that the concerns of the U.S. government were invasive and interfering with their religious freedom, and that’s how he got them to relocate. I don’t know what Guyanese law was like back then, but I’d be willing to bet it’s been updated a lot since Jonestown.

@bijouxbroussard I hope so.
