@alongalone Aside from the sheer novelty of a TV show based on a video game, there wasn't much "cheesy" about it- and I think it played a big part in shaping the mindset of those of us who watched it as kids- the low budgets meant winning was both rare and hard, and genuinely had to be earned, which meant it got no small amount of respect.
I will admit, though, that I've long held the plan that, should I be facing public execution
(not too likely, but I'm thorough) and asked for my last words, I'll shout "Do it, Rockapella!" and see if anyone starts singing. If they do, then hey, I get credit for a musical execution. And if not, well, it'll take the edge off leaving the world, if no one even bothers singing along.
THAT, I'll agree, is kinda cheesy.

Hmm... Every TV show I like, I will praise as amazing. Hogans Heroes, Red Dwarf, "Ed, Edd and Eddy".
But cheesy? That's tougher. Probably Supernatural. That show suffers from serious glaring issues but I still love it with my heart.
Maybe the anime Grappler Baki was pretty cheesy. Guy punched the ground to stop an earthquake from interrupting a fight.
Or Yugioh gx that anime about card games. The main character sees everyone taking them so seriously and then just laughs or says "Hey, come on man. It's just a game." Basicly saying "I play this game to have fun, what the hell is your problem?" Whenever it gets too dramatic.
Maybe... Maybe Joe Pera talks with you embarresses me a bit. My god that show is for a special type of person.
