I had very mixed feelings about the tv show Blue Bloods…

I understand that the storylines were pretty much driven by Tom Selleck’s right-wing leanings, but I did enjoy some of the other characters in the series and I liked the family dinner scenes.

It was canceled after 14 seasons in December 2024, but I just read that there’s to be a spin-off that will star Donnie Wahlberg (who plays one of the sons) set in Boston (the original series was set in New York City).

I’m wondering if the new show will have a different tone sans Selleck.

If you watched the show "Blue Bloods", what did you think of it ? Did you like it ?

D Wahlberg is politically aligned with Magnum PI . However it may depend on the who the writers and producers of the spin off are.

I didn't like it. I characters were overly one-dimensional (which is the writers fault not the actors) the black-and-white- moral sales pitch was silly and T Selleck's character as an alcoholic was oddly celebrated as a family value as opposed to being used as an opportunity to add complexity to the character
@robertsnj Yes, it may indeed depend on the writers and producers. The original producer of the series, Leonard Goldberg, passed away in 2019.
