should a 1950s tv show be now in the public domain

i would like to post an episode to my youtube channel of a 1950s tv show, the adventures of robin hood, but i know if i upload it i'll get a copyright strike probably...but shouldn't that series be now in the public domain so you can post it without getting a copyright strike?
Decades ago, the classic movie It’s A Wonderful Life was in the public domain. Multiple tv stations showed it during Christmas time. Then someone bought just the soundtrack copywriter. And now it’s a three hour, prime time extravaganza once a year.
I think it enters public domain around 80 years after the death of the copyright owner or the date the IP was copyrighted?
