Has anyone watch Masters of the Air? I’ve mixed feelings about.
While a show covering the important contribution of the 8th Air Force crews is long over due, I don’t think this show has delivered. With crews of 10 men per aircraft the show only focuses on the experiences of just a few officers. The lives of the air gunners are largely ignored.
The CGI is very bad, almost cartoony like a Star Wars prequel. The animators have never seen a B17 in flight. The show seems to over dramatise some moments while skipping over others completely.
But it is a show that needs to have been made. If it were me I’d have made each episode based on one crew at at time, those who made it and those who didn’t.
The show is average, but the story of the crews deserves much better.
