It actually is really good, but you've got to go into it without any preconceived notion that the main character is even remotely the hero. He's definitely not, for reasons I can't reveal because the story unfolds in a certain way.

I would strongly recommend you watch the episodes in order, rather than watching what somebody tells you is their favorite episode, because even though it masquerades as being your standard episodic adventure story, it's not.

I'll tell you the basic premise as of season 1 without any spoilers. Super scientist and alcoholic depressive Rick Sanchez has interdimensional adventures with his grandson Morty. It's strongly suggested even at the beginning that most of their adventures are illegal. Beth, Rick's daughter, is married to a man named Jerry Smith, who resents the hell out of Rick dragging Morty around the multiverse, and in turn, Rick resents the hell out of Jerry for being a basic, stupid human who knocked up his daughter and ended her chances at becoming something special.

It MUST be good - there'll be at least 3 more seasons of it for a total of 10.
