Star Trek TOS & Movies.

What’s your fav episode? I have so many I love but City on the Edge of Forever is my #1. Regarding the movies, I haven’t seen all but I think IV (the one with the whales) is my fav.

I would have to agree that City on the Edge of Forever is my favorite and best episode, but there are other favorites also. Piece of the Action was also very good, and of course no one will ever forget Trouble with Tribbles.

As for the movies, I liked The Wrath of Kahn the best and The Voyage Home second best.

@IM5688 I’m not that good on episode names but I’m guessing piece of the action is when Kirk and Spock are like 1930s gangsters. That was good and so was the one they were back at the OK Corral. I believe that one was called Spectre of the gun. Wrath of Khan was very good too. First one was very slow and boring.

@IM5688 Wrath of Khan is my favourite too. The story is simple and makes perfect sense. It feels very Star Trek.

@4thdimensiondream you are correct with both of those titles. Spectre of the Gun was in Series 3. The later episodes have often been panned by the critics.

@Jacko1971 I’m
Assuming budgetary issues prob had a lot to do with it. There were plenty of episodes I didn’t love throughout but the good ones were so great like Doomsday Machine for one, I could live with the so so eps.

@4thdimensiondream was that the one where the planets were so many people had to be evaporated every day because its cleaner than actually fighting a war. A bit like Logan's Run mentality.
4thdimensiondream · 70-79, M
@Jacko1971 no but I really liked that storyline. Doomsday machine(I might have wrong name) was the planet killer. Big long ship or device that destroyed planets.
IM5688 · 70-79, M
@4thdimensiondream I never liked Spectre of the Gun, but I'm not into westerns or that historical time period.

@IM5688 it was an odd eerie episode. I didn’t buy the explanation of why Chekhov didn’t die but overall I liked.
Jacko1971 · 51-55, M
@4thdimensiondream I believe the premise of the episode was a bit vague. The Western segment was good though.

In history Wyatt Earp were not the good guys. My understanding was that that the townsfolk paid the Clanton's to free them. I might be wrong on that.

@Jacko1971 I prob should know after seeing the Costner and Russell movie adaptions but I’m still not sure. I believe it’s a debatable issue.
Jacko1971 · 51-55, M
@4thdimensiondream wasn't the planet killer one similar to film 4, where an alien was trying to reconnect with its lost soul mate. The first episode of TNG was like that too.
4thdimensiondream · 70-79, M
@Jacko1971 you know I had forgotten that storyline in 4! They were similar in form but not sure about size.
