Something I've noticed about the Star Trek movies....

In the original series, Leonard Nimoy played first officer Spock to William Shanters Capt Kirk.In the remake, Johnathan Frakes played the same role as Commander Riker to Patrick Stuarts Capt .Picard.In the movies,Nimoy became an acclaimed director for many of the films, while Shanters only directed one picture that was generally considered to be terrible. In the new franchise,Frakes went on the direct several of the films, while Stuart only did so with one or two episodes of the T.V .series.Is there something about that franchise that causes first officers to become good directors.........🤔

@Human1000 But why should that make them good directors? It's just kinda strange how that worked out.
