Spider-Man Review

I have read Spider-man comics since the early 1970's. I remember watching the Spider-Man cartoons from the 60's as kid. I even remember Spidey on PBS's The Electric Company. I have seen ever Spider-Man movie featuring Tobey Maguire, Andrew Garfield, and Tom Holland.
With this being said I rate this as among the top 4 Spider-Man films. Tom Holland does a phenomenal job playing down on his luck Peter Parker and the ever lovable friendly neighborhood Spider-Man. The action sequences in this film were spot on. His web slinging, his fighting, his Spidey quips, his battles with The Punisher and The Hulk. I felt like a kid seeing Spider-man swinging around the city.
The plot of the film was good. It involves a "mystery villain" who is trying to break into Damage Control's headquarters by psychically controlling people to get there. Spider-man is trying to prevent that from happening. The bad guy turns out to be the mutant Jean Grey in search of her sister. I was not crazy that they made her the villain. They must not like Redheads in the MCU first The Scarlet Witch, now Jean Grey. Turns out the head of Damage Control was the real baddie.
Ned and Mary Jane are back with no memory of Peter. I liked the way the story unfolds regarding Peter re-enteing their lives. Great performance by all.
Go see this film on the big screen, especially if you like Spider-man. It is a blast. I give it an 8 out of 10.
