I Can’t Hear My Soap Opera…

The A/C is running, the washing machine is going, the parakeets are all chattering and talking….what else can make noise around here? Oh yeah the howling of the feral cat outside because he doesn’t want to eat dry food.

Rhubarb must be on your sh!t list, if he is getting dry food! JK!!! I know you love him. You used to spoil him with scrambled eggs...*sigh*...but all of us will be in the same boat quite soon...eggs and wet cat food are pricey!!!

My summer television watching is only possible with headphones for the same reasons. The AC and the fan needed to funnel cooler air into the bedroom, the two air purifiers...its a lot!

@4meAndyou It’s getting harder to find canned food that I can afford. I figure it may be near impossible before the summer is over. Those tiny little tins are way overpriced. So I decided to stock up on dry food and give him 1 can of canned food a day plus dry food he can eat when he gets hungry again. If I have any chicken or beef or salmon scraps I’ll give him that too but it’s not everyday. Sometimes he comes up missing for a day or more….probably found someone who has been giving him scraps some days. Didn’t show up yesterday at all and this morning showed up and didn’t act ravenous so someone has fed him. He can be really sweet sometimes so someone, probably a woman, thinks he is starving and feeds him. He doesn’t really good a couple days after holidays & I figured he’s getting leftover Turkey & ham. Won’t show up usually till Monday morning after a long holiday.

@cherokeepatti As long as someone is feeding him, you are sharing the burden. I was trying to think of really cheap meats you could buy and cook...brains? No idea really.

@4meAndyou I am the main person to feed him. Someone is feeding him occasionally. I have bought one-pound packages of chicken livers and sometimes boil those for him, feed him a few each day. Can get quite a few scraps from a roasted chicken I get from Sam’s Club too.

@cherokeepatti Those are all pretty cheap, but I heard Sam's Club is charging 8.99 for a 4.99 chicken these days.

I was thinking of my grandmother, who used to chop up raw beef liver for her cat, Alphonso.

@4meAndyou Sam’s is still selling $4.99 roasted chickens and so is Costco here in this area. The grocery stores & Walmart charge more than that and theirs are much smaller.

@cherokeepatti I heard 8.99 in NYC. 😬
